A Summer High

In the Spring of 2016, three high school seniors pulled together a plan to form a band.  One of their first ideas was to follow the East Coast tour of 5 Seconds of Summer and busk in the parking lots of their concerts.  The move spawned a small following that began to grow as the boys began writing and recording their punk/pop sensibilities into infectious upbeat teen angst.

Mason Levi, James Anthony, and Luke Oxendale then found their way to touring that by 2019, had them crisscrossing the U.S., supporting and headlining all-ages club shows and opening for the likes of The Plain White Tees.  However, the road took its toll, and Luke dropped out mid-tour in November of 2018.  He has gone on to living in Nashville, pursuing a career as a producer.  James and Mason slogged onward, including a UK tour special guesting for Liverpool punk/popster, Bronnie.

Resurrecting their original sense of adventure, Mason and James, together with Bronnie, mapped out a busking tour of Northern Europe, covering six countries.  They returned home and spent the remainder of 2019, writing and recording.  They hooked up with Rob Chiarappa, who produced a new EP that was released in early 2020.

As Covid-19 ravaged the music scene and the touring capabilities for A Summer High, James Anthony turned to a business career and real estate. Only the front man, Mason Levi, remained as the last member pursuing his musical dream.

Mason continues to record and releasing tracks under his own name.  He returned to the UK twice to open for Bronnie and to perform with her band on subsequent UK club tours.  Mason and Bronnie co-wrote and recorded a duet entitled “Death Wish” that has now reached six figures on Spotify and has been featured on BBC1 in London, along with many of A Summer High’s original songs and covers. Mason is currently recording new material with Rob Chiarappa, while performing a residency at the Iron Works at his hometown in Western Pennsylvania.  He plans to return to the UK in the near future to continue collaborating with Bronnie and his musician friends in Liverpool, as well as to connect again, with the many loyal A Summer High fans who continue to follow him.

As the music lives on and continues to resonate with their fans, Mason Levi continues to evolve as an artist while carrying on the legacy of A Summer High.
