Trying to change the world they came from - a hyper religious macho one, Ranger is building their own bridge to somewhere more inclusive and loving, and they hope that people come with them. Ranger’s music is a strikingly dense take on indie psych/folk rock. With a blend of ethereal instrumentation and unique vocal stylings, the band takes you away to a place you didn’t know about
before you listened.
Having come from heavily religious upbringings, Ranger is now taking up in their hometown of Reno, Nevada, the neon mountain sin city with its strip clubs, dive bars, trailer parks and sleepless casinos - a place full of colorful people and bizarre transience. The band includes brothers Cody and Greggy Rea who attest that one look around a family BBQ and there’s enough rich irony to inspire a whole musical circus. One that explores growing up in a strange place, sexual/spiritual orientation, love, heartbreak, addiction and family. Other band members include Aris Andrews, Caleb Collins and Noah Lowdermilk
LGBTQ allies, but not flag bearers of the movement. The term rainbow represents unapologetically animated exploration. According to the band, their sexuality as a group is a wide spectrum, and irrelevant to their desire to entertain and share their words and music.
